sound whne I am offline?
Q1:
Can I use Instant Watcher as an audio player?
A1: Yes, you can. When you are offline, it just
runs as a player. And it's very convenient to manage your
playing list.
Q2:
Will all participants attending a conference hear my
music?
A2: Yes, as long as you share your music, everyone in
a conference will get the tone. It was designed that
where your voice goes, your music goes.
Q3:
Can Instant Watcher work along with multiple VoIP clients simultaneously?
A3: Yes. Instant Watcher will find all running VoIP clients
which it supported. And the voice emotions and background
music are shared among these VoIP clients.
Q4:
Can I send voice emotions to or share music with my
friends when we are not on a call?
A4: No, you can not do it directly from Instant Watcher, because
voice emotions and background music go along with your
chat voice. As e-mail feature has been added in latest
version, if you wish to send a voice emotion, or song,
to a user who is off line or not currently calling,
you can use the "send via e-mail" option,
reachable from the context menu, found by right-clicking
on the desired file.
Q5:
Can I substitute the icon displays on the left of a
list item?
A5: Yes, you can. Instant Watcher stores up to 5 icons
in a single .vea file.
Q6:
Why mute microphone?
A6: If you just intend to play music for your friends,
rather than to speak, you can mute the microphone. When
the microphone is muted, there's no demand to mix the
microphone voice and the playing music, so the sound
quality can be enhanced somewhat.
Q7:
Why use VEA (Voice Emotion Audio) files?
A7: VEA is a Instant Watcher defined file format. It packs
some images and audio data into one file. The index of
the audio data is pre-built and stored in the same VEA
file. You use VEA files for two reasons: (1)VEA files
contain index for audio data, so Instant Watcher can load these
files faster. (2)Using VEA files, you can substitute
the default icons that displayed at left of the audio
file items.
Q8: Is it required
that my partners install Instant Watcher to receive voice emotions?
A8: No. Only who send voice emotions/sound effects or
set background music for a call need an installation
of Instant Watcher.
Q9: My partner's sound quality is not so good, is there any way to improve it?
A9: Generally, higher sample rate will guarantee higher sound quality. But with Instant Watcher, music is shared accross the internet, so maybe another story says.To gain high sound quality on both your side and your partners', please notice following suggestions:
1. Use music with moderate sample rate. 22000 (or less) is recommended. Higher sample rate will enhance the local sound quality, but that of your partners is likely to be worse.
2. Use music with single audio track. Instant Watcher mix multiple audio tracks in an audio file and send the single-track output data to your friends. So mutiple tracks contribute nothing more than laborring your computer.
3. When your partners' sound quality is not satisfying, try to mute your microphone. (Select the command "Mute Microphone" from the "Tools" menu)
Q10: Can I run the program as a background recorder saving call records without prompting for user input?
A10: Yes. Please go to recorder settings window of the program to see more details.
Q11: How can I save records in general audio files(mp3 or wav)?
A11: In the "New record" window that prompts at end of a call, select "General audio file" from the "Save as" option list. This option let you save records into mp3 or wav file, depending on the encoding method you selected. You can change the encoding method from in "Recorder settings" window.
Q12: Can I save records without showing the "New record" window?
A12: Yes. Just go to "Recorder settings" and check the "Save call records without prompting for user input" box. Or in the "New record" window, check the "Do not show..." box. Then the window will not show again.
Q13: Can I use Instant Watcher to record microphone sound whne I am offline?
A13: Yes. Click menu "Tools | Microphone recorder" to bring out the "Microphone recorder" window. That is a recorder similar with that of your windows system.
